More about The Calling All Choir:

When people join their voices in song it can be inspiring, healing, heartwarming, and joyous. The Calling All Choir is an inclusive, service-based community singing organization. We are building a broad community of people who want to sing, from those who haven’t sung before to seasoned professionals. We also share the joy of singing with underserved communities such as retirement homes, residential treatment centers, and developmental disability programs.

The group is led by composer/music educator Mark Growden and is open to anyone who desires to sing and is committed to making music for people who often don’t have access to the performing arts. Participants range in ages from 8 through mid-80s. The group grew out of the singing workshops Growden has led in the Bay Area for the past several years.

There are chapters of the choir in three regions: San Francisco, The East Bay, and western Sonoma County.
We will be meeting in all three regions starting June 2013. The gatherings will function not just as rehearsals for performance, but also as a laboratory for developing new ways of engaging communities in singing.
